The reason for the many trips to Lewes is that we are helping a friend with her kitchen. We love DIY, we love projects, we love our friend and we love Lewes so it’s a win win really.
The kitchen is in an old crooked house in the centre of lewes, it’s long and narrow with lots of constructional flaws made by previous owners. As this will not be my friend’s forever home she decided to refresh the house but not to properly reconstruct the house. Using affordable solutions to make it a lovely home.
We’ve used IKEA METOD kitchen units with VEDDINGE fronts and fancy brass Corston Kilburn cabinet knobs. Bo built a new windowsill using tongue and groove panelling. My friend updated the PVC windows with brass handles and she made the spice shelves. And on the other side of the kitchen I’ve built the pantry, so among the tree of us with did a rather good job. The only thing left is painting, decorating and curtain making.
The walls will be in Schoolhouse White, the woodwork in All White and the floors in Setting Plaster all by Farrow & Ball.
Love, Yvonne xxx
