Last Tuesday my mum settled into the cabin we’ve built in our garden. It’s not that she’s moving there indefinitely but for the time when she’s with us she can stay there so that we all have our privacy and our own space.

Building a Bedstee
We are building a tiny house in a former building construction unit next to our house. We wanted to fit all the comforts of a home into 20 m² without losing the Dutch 1932 farm-style that reflects our own home.
In the cupboards are her clothes and bedding and behind the depth of the hanging closet we’ve installed a few bookshelves. I’ve placed a few gardening books on the shelves but there’s room to grow a collection. For the curtains I’ve used a Dille & Kamille tablecloth because I love the multi coloured stripes in soft pastels and I also use the garden cushions in this pattern.
