We call this space our garden house as the green house is located in the back of the garden in a good sunshine position.
The garden house was build out of pure necessity during the pandamic. We used the garage that was on our neighbour’s abandoned plot for years and all of a sudden the neighbour’s sons wanted to sell the plot and take down the garage. We had a months notice so we had to come up with something we could use as a garage/shed/whatever really quick. We already had all the used windows taken from a demolished old house in our town’s city centre as we wanted to use them for a greenhouse. So instead we used them for the garden house.
To understand the garage situation this is what it looked like before it was taken down. There was an entrance on the street and there was an entrance in our garden as the two plots were once one plot. It was so pretty to have this old brick wall in our garden and the gorgeous white lilac tree that was slaughtered by the previous neighbours whilst taking down the garage.
I use the garden house for winter and spring sowing, for putting on boots, for bird food, small garden utensils and all my pots are stored in this space. I really love it here. Last Christmas we hung up the lights and had a Christmas BBQ in this little house.
Garden house season is officially open as I sow sweet peas and delphiniums in October and will tell you all about that this week.
