I love the novelty of a pinboard or a inspiration board as I love postcards, photos and random images pinned on a wall or on a fridge. But things in ‘my town’ always need to be pretty so I came up with my own pinboard using a simple floating frame, MDF board, fabric batting and block printed fabric.

I first started by block printing a piece of Merchant & Mills Japanese Canvas. I wrapped the canvas, together with some fabric batting, around the MDF board and stapled it to the back of the the board. I also made a checkerboard of ribbon that I also attached to the back of the MDF board. I then screwed it on to the floating frame, that I painted in the same colour as the wall (Farrow & Ball French Gray), and that’s it. It’s like as simple as framing a canvas.
It elevates my home office as it’s such a dark room. I can also easily add things, rotate things as I can stuff it between the ribbons.

Love, Yvonne
