The two main reasons we fell in love with our home was the Dutch clock-shaped facade and the attic. It’s not really an attic but more a third floor. The space is divided in two rooms, one facing south and the other one facing north. As Bo and I don’t share bedrooms he claimed the whole attic, sleeping in the south facing room and painting in the north facing room.
The changes we’ve made to the rooms were actually quite quick and simple. We’ve painted everything white, I painted the laminated floors in Farrow & Ball Cornforth White, Bo wallpapered the walls with Mary Isobel Wallpaper by Morris & Co, we’ve added farmhouse trim around all the windows and the one door and we’ve build some extra storage under the rafters.
The bed are IKEA sprung mattress bases without the legs. The bedding is all linen from Zara Home, my own collection of toppers and pillow covers and a beautiful scalloped embroidered pillow from Projektityyny.
All the pine antiques have been with us for ages. I’ve upholstered the Ercol chair with Jones black organic ticking from Merchant & Mills. The matching footstool is in the studio and is used by our cat Cupcake.
The Morris & Co wallpaper is also featuring on the north facing wall that leads to Bo his studio. The chest of drawers and the tongue & groove is painted in Farrow & Ball Shadow White.
I will show you the studio in a next post.
Love, Yvonne
So, Lovely! Love it.
Sounds ideal, our cats live at the end of the bed too so definitely interested in this. Will you keep me updated please. x
